Compact car vacuum cleaner tailored for urban users with a form-focused, ergonomic design.

In India, most car vacuum cleaners are poorly adapted to real user behavior. They’re generic imports—awkward to hold, hard to store, and often underpowered. CleanDrive reimagines the product by aligning it with the constraints and habits of Indian drivers.
Key Observations
Most users clean their vehicles in narrow driveways or parking lots with limited maneuvering space.
Cord clutter and plug compatibility are major friction points—USB or lighter socket access isn't consistent.
Hand fatigue is common; most vacuums are designed like tools, not extensions of the hand.
Dust disposal is often overlooked—filters are messy, unintuitive, and rarely cleaned.
Design Focus
The core objective was to compress functionality into a cleaner, more ergonomic object with gesture-aligned handling and modular nozzle adaptation. CleanDrive is built around the hand, not around the motor block.
Process Flow
1. Insight Mapping
User interviews, teardown reviews, and contextual shadowing of car cleaning behavior. Defined 3 key use contexts: daily wipe-downs, weekly deep cleans, and post-trip resets.
2. Form & Function Coupling
Grip sketches mapped against task angles: side sweep (seats), down-push (mats), front-scoop (dash). Nozzles rotated 15–25° for precision without strain.
3. CAD Translation & Iteration
Built parametric models for housing, dust box, and nozzle swaps. Iterated proportions to align the suction path with the hand center of gravity.
4. Mock + Validate
3D printed parts used for prototyping were tested for:
Fit in the glove compartment
Wrap-around cable storage
Tool-less chamber ejection
Result
CleanDrive doesn’t try to be futuristic—it aims to be instantly usable. The body design is intuitive, the parts modular, and the experience adapted to real-world Indian use, not showroom abstraction.
From quick clean-ups to full cabin refreshes, CleanDrive fits where it’s needed—without fighting the user.
